We are pleased to announce the Call for Full Research Papers and Scientific Posters submissions for the 5th International Conference on Library Archives and Information Sciences (ICOLAIS), which will be held offline on 21st October 2024. We aim to provide opportunities for both intellectually stimulating discussions and socially engaging meetings during the conference.

We invite submissions of full papers related to, but not limited to, the following topics:

DIVERSITY

  1. Representation in Collection: Strategies for diversifying Gallery, Library, Archives, or Museum collections to reflect various culture, ethnicities, and identities.
  2. Equity in Access: Digital divide and its impact on access to Gallery, Library, Archives, or Museum resources.
  3. Inclusive GLAM Practice: Inclusive GLAM practices that respect cultural diversity and indigenous knowledge system. Bias in diverse practices such as cataloging, metadata standards, or etc and ways to mitigate it.

INCLUSIVITY

  1. Accessibility and Usability: Designing GLAM spaces to be accessible and usable for all types of user including people with disabilities. Technology usage to enhance accessibility, such as audiobooks, tactile graphics, virtual tours, or etc.
  2. Community and User Engagement: Methods for engaging diverse communities in the development and programming of GLAM institutions.

SUSTAINABILITY

  1. Environmental Practices: Sustainable practices in the conservation and preservation of collections in GLAM institutions.
  2. Sustainable Technologies: Sustainable technology management of digital resources and data in GLAM, including how to adopt, manage, mitigate risk, and improvement.
  3. Advocacy and Awareness: Role of GLAM institutions in promoting environmental sustainability through exhibitions and public programs. Case studies on successful sustainability initiatives within GLAM.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Full Research Papers: should be between 8 to 10 pages (including references).
  2. Scientific Poster: Should be 2-4 pages, including references.

Full Research Papers and Scientific Poster should follow the structure below:

  1. Abstract;
  2. Introduction;
  3. Methodology;
  4. Results; Conclusion;
  5. Acknowledgments (if applicable);
  6. and References.

Review and Publication Process

Full papers will undergo a double-blind (rapid) review process, focusing on the research’s novelty and contribution to the ongoing scientific discussion. Twelve selected papers will be presented in the ICOLAIS panel and published in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) 4 indexed journal, including:

  1. JIPK (Information, Library, and Archive Science Journal published by the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia);
  2. ANUVA (Journal of the Library Science Study Program of Diponegoro University which focused on Cultural Studies, Library and Information Science)
  3. Pustabiblia (Journal of Library and Information Science published by IAIN Salatiga Library),
  4. Palimpsest (Journal of the Library Science Published by Department of Information and Library Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Airlangga).

  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: 6th September 2024 (by midnight 23:59 GMT +07:00)
  • Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: 13th September 2024
  • Conference Date: 21st October 2024
  • Final Paper Submission Deadline: 31st October 2024

Those whose paper accepted for publishing are kindly asked to pay, in accordance with the following categories:
